Club member Kenneth May of New Iberia, Louisiana, made irrigation easy when he designed his landscaping — he turned his edging into a watering system. He first drilled a series of 3/32-in. holes into the upper tubing of his garden edging 30 degrees above horizontal for each plant he wanted to water. (He enlarged a few holes to increase the water flow to specific plants.) Then he attached one end of a short section of garden hose to the tubing of his edging and plugged the far end of the edging with a wooden dowel. Now with a turn of the faucet, he can water his plants effortlessly.
