To keep from losing the bench dogs for his Black & Decker Workmate, Club member Chris Quitter of Lebanon, Ohio, designed this simple storage device. He first drilled four holes into a section of scrap 3/4-in. plywood using a 3/4-in. Forstner bit; then he used a file to enlarge the holes to 25/32 in. (Chris points out that you could achieve the same results with an expansion bit.) Next, he notched the corners of the scrap so that it wouldn’t block the factory-bored dog holes once mounted. Finally, he screwed the holder to the underside of the bench top using three 1-1/2-in. screws.
