When William Strom of New Market, Tennessee, was preparing to wallpaper his house, he noticed a small gap between two walls. To fill a gap in such a tight spot, he put spackling compound in a pastry bag outfitted with a regular round tip. By squeezing the bag as he worked down the gap, he was able to control the flow of compound and direct it just where he wanted it to go. And he didn’t waste a bit: He put the unused spackling compound back in the container for future repairs.
